Hi, My name is Susan. Here is a little about me and my situation. When I was approx 15 weeks pregnant, I had an ultrasound done. Results came back that I had a cyst on my ovary. Through out my pregnancy I have had 4 ultrasounds, and the cyst is getting bigger. At the beginning of last month, it's dimensions were 10.4x4.9x5.3cm. While talking to my doctor, we have come to the conclusion, that it is more risk to take it out while pregnant, then for me to just wait, since I have been having minimal symptoms, the occasional bit of pressure, or short bursts of pain, like I pulled a muscle, but it always subsides. I had an appointment today, and she met with a colleague to look over my ultrasounds results, and they are leaning towards the fact that it is a dermoid cyst. I guess at my 6 week appointment, after the baby is born, I will be getting an ultrasound to check on it once again, and then going from there. We are sure that I will be getting surgery to get it removed, and fortunately, I already have 3 kids, so if they were to take an ovary, or it all, although it is not ideal, I'm okay with it. I guess I am not eligible for the keyhole surgery, and will have to get the larger incision. At that point, I will have a school aged child, toddler, and baby, I'm sure that will be fun  I just wanted to join to talk to other people who have insight, have been through the same thing, and just to talk about it. Although my family and husband have good listening ears, I'm sure they would like to mute me sometimes |
